The Indian Maritime University (IMU) has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CMA Ships India Pvt. Ltd. This partnership aims to deepen academic collaboration and enhance industry engagement in the global maritime sector.
The MoU will promote research and development, facilitate cadet recruitment, and offer internship opportunities for IMU cadets on CMA CGM vessels. Additionally, it includes training programs, joint seminars, and knowledge-sharing initiatives in essential areas like maritime law and marine insurance.
IMU faculty will also benefit from access to specialized training programs and managerial internships, enhancing practical exposure and academic enrichment for both students and faculty. Malini Shankar, Vice Chancellor of IMU, emphasized that this collaboration is crucial for bridging the gap between education and the maritime industry, helping students adapt to evolving global challenges.
