India and the United States will review their robust defense partnership during Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi’s visit to the U.S. from November 12-17. This trip aims to bolster the long-standing maritime collaboration between the Indian Navy and the U.S. Navy, a cornerstone of the India-U.S. Defense Partnership.

Admiral Tripathi’s agenda includes discussions with U.S. Department of War officials and meetings with top military leaders, such as Admiral Samuel J. Paparo of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and Admiral Stephen T. Koehler of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. The visit will also encompass engagements with key naval institutions and operational commands of the U.S. Navy, emphasizing shared priorities in the Indo-Pacific. Notably, discussions will revolve around the Milan naval exercise, set for February and involving over 50 navies, and the multilateral Combined Maritime Forces initiative.

Admiral Tripathi’s visit coincides with the Malabar exercise, involving India, the U.S., Australia, and Japan, aimed at strengthening operational interoperability amid increasing military activities in the region. This visit reaffirms the Indian Navy’s commitment to a free and inclusive Indo-Pacific.
