Eight Indian seafarers who survived a missile attack on the oil tanker Sky Light near Khasab port in Oman on March 1 have completed their travel documentation, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, announced that arrangements are being made for their return to India following the incident, which resulted in the death of one Indian crew member, while another remains missing.

The attack left the seafarers stranded in Oman, as the fire on the vessel destroyed their passports and other essential documents. For the past 12 days, they have been residing in a guest room at Khasab Airport, awaiting emergency travel documents to facilitate their return home. One crew member reported that the blaze consumed most of their belongings, leaving them with only a few mobile phones.

Efforts are underway to repatriate the deceased and ensure the well-being of the affected seafarers.
