Vadhvan Port Project Ltd. (VPPL) has introduced the Vadhvan Port Skilling Program to equip the youth of the region with essential skills for employment in various sectors. The program was launched on December 16, 2024, with an MoU signing between JNPA and the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping) to provide skill development training to locals through selected Maritime Training Institutes. The initiative aims to empower candidates from the Vadhvan Port area with maritime qualifications in GP Rating and Certificate in Maritime Catering, enabling them to pursue careers as seafarers.

Another MoU was signed between VPPL and the Dye Makers Association at Vadhvan to provide branding opportunities. JNPA, in collaboration with the Union Bank of India, is proposing a cluster-specific scheme with a concessional rate of interest to provide low-cost funding for dye makers. Initiatives will focus on technology upgradation, market access, and social security measures to enhance productivity and competitiveness while ensuring the welfare of artisans and their families.

To support the youth of Vadhvan, JNPA launched an Orientation Program for Customs Documentation in collaboration with BCBA. The program aims to enhance job readiness among local youth and provide internship opportunities. Unmesh Sharad Wagh, Chairman of VPPL and JNPA, emphasized the importance of the program in achieving inclusive growth and community empowerment. JNPA has also implemented a dedicated WhatsApp Chatbot to provide information on the skilling program and updates about Vadhvan Port, which aims to create 12 lakh employment opportunities.
