The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), in collaboration with the Indian Ports Association, has launched the inaugural Officers’ Induction Training Program on September 18, 2025. This initiative underscores JNPA’s commitment to capacity building and knowledge sharing within the Indian port sector, welcoming participants from major ports nationwide.

The program commenced with key figures, including T. K. Ramachandran, IAS, Secretary of MoPSW, and Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Chairperson of JNPA, in attendance. Designed to enhance participants’ understanding of port operations, administration, and regulatory frameworks, the two-week training features sessions by JNPA heads and industry experts, interactive workshops, and on-site visits to provide practical insights into port management.

Ramachandran emphasized the importance of the maritime sector to India’s economic growth, praising the officers for their future leadership roles. He commended JNPA for fostering knowledge sharing and skill development as part of the Ministry’s vision for a robust maritime workforce.

Building on previous initiatives, JNPA aims to bolster inter-port cooperation and enhance operational excellence, ultimately contributing to the advancement of India’s port sector.
