JNPA has initiated its own Integrated Vessel Traffic System (iVTS), marking a significant shift from the previous system managed by the Mumbai Port Authority. This new system moves away from the reliance on Wärtsilä, which provided services under the earlier arrangement.

With the launch of the iVTS, JNPA aims to enhance operational efficiency and improve maritime safety within its jurisdiction. This independent system is expected to offer more specialized services tailored to the needs of the port.

The transition emphasizes JNPA’s commitment to adopting advanced technology to streamline vessel traffic management. By establishing its own system, JNPA not only aims to optimize the flow of maritime activities but also to bolster its operational autonomy.
