Paradip Port Trust has issued a tender for the mechanization of its multipurpose berth (MPB) in Odisha, operating under a build-operate-transfer (BOT) model for 30 years, including a 30-month construction period. This project, structured as a public-private partnership (PPP), aims to enhance the handling capacity of dry bulk cargo, targeting an annual volume of 8 million tonnes.
The initiative entails comprehensive mechanization of the berth, alongside the development of necessary infrastructure and cargo-handling equipment. An area of 300,000 square meters has been designated for storage facilities, ensuring efficient cargo operations.
With an estimated capital investment of ₹630.67 crore, the project is poised to significantly improve handling efficiencies at Paradip Port, fostering increased industrial and commercial activities in the region.
