Unlike other ports, container loading and unloading at Vizhinjam continues unabated, even during heavy rain, as cranes are operated from a control room, allowing ships to maintain their schedules.
However, the ongoing expansion of the breakwater is facing delays due to rough sea conditions. High waves complicate the placement of stones required for construction, similar to challenges experienced during the monsoon months last year.
