Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President and Leader of the Opposition Naveen Patnaik attended the art exhibition “Voyages: The Ancient Maritime Silk Route” at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on Monday. Curated by Jaya Mani, the exhibition highlights the artistic and cultural heritage of South Asia’s coastal regions, including Odisha, emphasizing historical connections along ancient trade routes.
Patnaik shared his appreciation for the exhibition on social media, noting its focus on the intertwined art and culture of South Asian coastal states. He expressed gratitude to mural artist Suresh Muthukulam and textile artist Gunjan Jain for their contributions to the display.
The exhibition not only showcases artistic talent but also serves as a reminder of Odisha’s rich maritime history, illustrating the state’s enduring trade and cultural ties with Southeast Asia. By weaving together centuries of art and tradition, the exhibition aims to celebrate and revive the region’s seafaring heritage.
