Eastern Shipbuilding Group (ESG) has successfully completed and delivered the HOS Rocinante, a pioneering U.S.-flagged Service Operation Vessel (SOV) converted for Hornbeck Offshore Services. This vessel represents a significant advancement in the U.S. offshore service fleet, designed to meet the evolving demands of both the offshore wind and petro-energy sectors.

Originally constructed by ESG as an offshore supply vessel, the HOS Rocinante underwent extensive modifications at ESG’s shipyards in Panama City, Florida. The conversion transformed it into a next-generation SOV, equipped for technician accommodation, safe personnel transfer, and extended offshore operations, catering to both wind and oil and gas projects.

Joey D’Isernia, CEO of ESG, remarked on the achievement, highlighting the vessel’s capabilities as a multi-market offshore support asset. The HOS Rocinante is now poised to provide Hornbeck Offshore Services with unparalleled flexibility in meeting the needs of energy customers both domestically and internationally.
