Anglo-Eastern has successfully concluded its inaugural pilot training course on ammonia as a marine fuel, marking a significant milestone as the company prepares to manage its first ammonia-powered vessel. This two-day training session occurred on November 24 and 25 at the Anglo-Eastern Maritime Training Centre, attracting 26 participants from various regions in India, including masters, chief engineers, senior officers, and junior engineers.

The course emphasized safety and operational readiness, addressing the associated risks, challenges, and opportunities of using ammonia as fuel. Participants engaged in a blend of classroom instruction and practical exercises designed to replicate real onboard operations. Hands-on training was conducted at the Anglo-Eastern Maritime Academy in Karjat, utilizing the academy’s LNG and ammonia bunkering skid to simulate bunkering operations and test emergency protocols in a controlled environment.
