Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore has launched OptiCARBON, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform designed to optimize energy, fuel, and compliance costs for maritime fleets. This innovative tool primarily targets owners and operators of cruise and passenger vessels, aiming to enhance energy efficiency while simplifying regulatory processes. OptiCARBON serves as a predictive decision-making resource, allowing users to customize decarbonization strategies tailored to various fleet sizes, particularly in the ferry, roll-on/roll-off (RoRo), and cruise sectors.

Initially focusing on ferries and cruise ships, the platform is set to expand into other maritime segments. Utilizing Bureau Veritas’ advanced digital vessel models, OptiCARBON simulates diverse operational, regulatory, and financial scenarios, enabling users to explore various emissions reduction pathways while assessing cost and compliance implications. The platform’s modular design allows for customization according to the specific needs of different vessel types and fleet sizes.
