ClassNK has introduced the ‘ClassNK Fleet Cost Simulation’ service under its ‘ClassNK Transition Support Services’ to aid the maritime industry’s shift to decarbonized fuels. This service evaluates the cost implications of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction regulations, including the IMO’s mid-term measures, EU-ETS, and FuelEU Maritime. It includes the ‘ClassNK Fleet Cost Calculator’, an Excel-based tool that simulates cost changes due to fuel conversion, and a ‘Cost Estimation Report’ that visualizes total fleet cost projections through graphs and tables.

The ‘ClassNK Fleet Cost Calculator’ addresses three major environmental regulations and allows users to customize various assumptions, such as ship prices and fuel efficiency. Meanwhile, the ‘Cost Estimation Report’ offers insights into cost projections up to 2050 based on actual fuel consumption data, covering factors like shipbuilding and regulatory compliance. This report is delivered in PowerPoint format, making it suitable for internal presentations.
