At the GasTech 2025 Exhibition & Conference in Milan, Everllence, along with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries-Engine Machinery Division (HHI-EMD) and HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD), announced a strategic partnership aimed at developing a next-generation medium-sized gas carrier. This vessel will be powered by Everllence’s innovative dual-fuel, two-stroke B&W G50ME-LGIA ammonia-fueled engine.
The agreement was signed by Christian Ludwig, Head of Two-Stroke Sales & Promotion at Everllence, and Sang-Bae Cha, Head of Sales and Marketing for Korea, representing Everllence. On behalf of HMD and HHI-EMD, Dong-Jin Lee, Executive Vice President, and Byung-Kuk Kang, Senior Vice President, also signed the agreement.
Ludwig emphasized that this collaboration marks a significant advancement in the maritime industry’s shift toward zero-carbon propulsion. He noted that by merging Everllence’s expertise in dual-fuel technologies with HMD’s renowned shipbuilding capabilities, they are establishing a new standard for sustainable vessel design and innovation.
Cha highlighted the alignment of this agreement with their goal to collaborate with like-minded partners to address global decarbonization demands. He expressed confidence in the ammonia engine’s potential for the marine sector, asserting that the gas carrier concept will demonstrate its significant promise.
