Navantia Seanergies and Semco Maritime have entered into a partnership agreement to collaborate on the construction of offshore substations and provide lifecycle support. By combining their expertise as an industrial-scale manufacturer in offshore wind and an HVAC offshore substation supplier, the two companies aim to offer efficient and construction-friendly EPC solutions to the offshore wind industry. This strategic partnership will also focus on delivering a lifecycle approach based on the maintenance experience of over 40 offshore substations across Europe.
The collaboration between Navantia Seanergies and Semco Maritime is expected to enhance their leadership in the offshore wind market, positioning them as preferred partners for major projects. Thomas Thomsen, SVP of Semco Maritime’s Renewables division, expressed optimism about the partnership’s potential to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to meet the increasing demand for clean energy. Thomsen highlighted that the partnership will concentrate on projects in Europe and North America, complementing their existing collaboration with Vietnam’s PTSC M&C in the APAC market.
