Columbia Group Opens Strategic Service Hub in Mumbai

Columbia Group, a prominent integrated maritime and logistics company, has announced its expansion into India by opening a new office in Mumbai. This move aligns with the Group’s global growth strategy and underscores its investment in strengthening regional hubs that provide various maritime and operational services. The company aims to hire approximately 220 professionals in India to enhance its global service capabilities.

Building on the success of its Philippines hub, the new office is intended to complement Columbia Group’s existing operations, providing enhanced regional coverage and aligning services with local market demands. Columbia Shipmanagement (CSM) India will offer diverse services such as ship management, performance optimization, digital solutions, and training coordination, thereby reinforcing the Group’s integrated service model across the maritime value chain.

Demetris Chrysostomou, CEO for the Asia region, stated that the India office represents a strategic step toward establishing a significant presence in global maritime markets. Mark O’Neil, CEO of Columbia Group, emphasized the importance of localized operations in ensuring high-quality maritime solutions while promoting sustainable growth in India. This expansion reflects the Group’s ongoing commitment to agility, innovation, and talent development in a changing market environment.
