Strategic Marine is committed to a cleaner future, aligning its initiatives with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 14, which focuses on conserving oceans and marine resources. To support this goal, the company has integrated environmental products, such as the Wavestream System 3 bilge filter systems from Wave International, into all its Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) since 2012. These systems prevent the discharge of oil, diesel, microplastics, and microfibers from vessels, demonstrating a proactive approach to environmental protection.
The company’s StratCat 27 CTVs, which support wind farms, have recently made their first delivery to Poland, with growing demand in Asia. Strategic Marine emphasizes the advantage of having vessels equipped with essential environmental protection products, especially as Marine Protected Areas expand. The Wavestream filters are favored for their low cost, ease of installation, and reliability, making them a standard fit on stock vessels.
Paul Gullett, Managing Director of Wave International, highlights Strategic Marine’s leadership in adopting marine protection technologies ahead of regulations. This commitment reflects a deep respect for ocean conservation, particularly in light of global concerns about microplastics. Ryan Seah, General Manager for Special Projects and Sustainability at Strategic Marine, reiterates the company’s aim to future-proof its products while delivering value for customers and the environment.
