Inmarsat Maritime has finalized a significant agreement with Evergreen Marine, marking a milestone as the first Taiwanese operator to upgrade its fleet with the NexusWave bonded connectivity solution. This transition aims to enhance crew welfare, bolster cybersecurity, and deliver high-performance connectivity for vessels and their crews. The announcement was made on January 6.

Evergreen, a long-time customer of Fleet Xpress, is now adopting NexusWave, which offers bonded, multi-network connectivity. Viasat recently highlighted that the introduction of the ViaSat-3 satellite will dramatically increase capacity, facilitating faster data transfers and improved network efficiency, thereby providing a ‘home-like’ internet experience onboard. NexusWave is engineered to offer ship operators a scalable platform for predictive analytics, real-time reefer monitoring, and comprehensive IoT integration across the fleet.

This upgrade aligns with Evergreen’s ambitions for the present and future, ensuring they remain at the forefront of maritime innovation.
