NAVTOR is enhancing efficiency and cost savings for Redningsselskapet (Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue) by offering its fleet management solution, NavFleet, free of charge. This partnership aims to optimize operations for Redningsselskapet’s 59 vessels through intelligent planning and monitoring, leading to better vessel utilization and significant cost savings via informed decision-making.
Established in 1891, Redningsselskapet focuses on saving lives and assisting those in distress in Norwegian waters. The organization, which relies on volunteers, donors, and corporate partners, undertakes nearly 10,000 missions annually, showcasing its vital role in Norway’s maritime safety.
NAVTOR’s services extend to over 18,000 SOLAS vessels globally, facilitating seamless information sharing between ship and shore. NavFleet enables the exchange of passage plans, routes, and official ENC charts from Kartverket, enhancing operational efficiency. Many Redningsselskapet vessels already use NavBox for automated updates, with a full rollout planned for this year to ensure access to the latest charts.
Known for promoting safe maritime operations, NAVTOR’s collaboration with Redningsselskapet complements its existing support for the US Coast Guard’s AMVER initiative, integrating vital reporting tools into its NavStation route planning solution.
