Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Nikkiso CE&IG) has introduced a new high-pressure fuel gas supply system (FGSS) aimed at powering the next generation of cleaner, more efficient ships. This innovation is designed to reduce emissions while enhancing efficiency.
The FGSS can deliver and maintain pressures exceeding current standards of 380-420 bar, facilitating the transition to lower-carbon fuels such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), ethane, ammonia, and hydrogen. This development is crucial for the maritime industry as it seeks to adopt more sustainable fuel sources.
Nikkiso CE&IG’s FGSS is backed by extensive experience, with tens of millions of operating hours recorded in both offshore and onshore applications at pressures above 420 bar. In the marine sector alone, the company has equipped 40 vessels with FGSS operating over 380 bar, contributing to more than 500,000 hours of reliable service.
This advancement positions Nikkiso CE&IG at the forefront of efforts to enhance the environmental performance of maritime operations through innovative fuel supply solutions.
