The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has introduced IMCA Skills, a digital learning hub aimed at addressing the marine industry’s competence and development needs. The platform’s first offering is the Dynamic Positioning continuing professional development (CPD) program, marking a significant step in consolidating all CPD content into a user-friendly and secure environment.
IMCA Skills is designed to enhance the professional development experience by providing improved functionality and access tailored to learners’ needs. The platform aims to simplify navigation and progress tracking, making it easier for users to engage with the content both online and offline.
Richard Purser, IMCA’s Technical Adviser – Marine, emphasized the motivation behind this transition: to create a more convenient and flexible experience for users. He encouraged feedback to ensure the platform meets industry needs, reinforcing IMCA’s commitment to improving safety and professional standards.
With over 230 guidance documents and 250 information notes, IMCA remains a leading source for CPD in offshore operations, including diving, marine, ROV, and survey activities. The program is accredited by the Nautical Institute, ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting DPO certificate revalidation.
