Sources from Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Japan’s transport ministry report that one of the company’s container ships has suffered damage while navigating the Persian Gulf. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported among the crew members.
The incident occurred when the crew aboard the ONE MAJESTY heard a loud impact on Wednesday. Upon inspection, they discovered a hole at the rear of the ship, although specific details regarding the extent of the damage remain unclear.
All crew members, including several Japanese nationals, are reported to be safe, and the vessel continues to operate normally. Both the shipping company and the transport ministry are currently investigating the situation to determine the cause of the incident.
This incident follows a previous occurrence on March 4, when a Japan-linked vessel anchored in the Gulf of Oman was damaged by an object that seemingly fell from the sky. The ongoing investigations aim to shed light on these unusual maritime events.
