Saronic Technologies, a US-based manufacturer of autonomous vessels, is enhancing its collaboration with Nvidia, a leading chip maker, to advance maritime autonomy and robotics. This partnership aims to leverage both companies’ expertise in research and development to enhance decision-making capabilities for ships operating at sea. By utilizing Nvidia’s powerful computing resources and software tools, Saronic intends to streamline the building, testing, and deployment of its autonomous maritime systems.
Dino Mavrookas, Saronic’s co-founder and CEO, emphasized that the combination of Saronic’s maritime expertise and Nvidia’s AI capabilities will facilitate the creation of robust maritime systems. This collaboration not only strengthens Saronic’s position in maritime innovation but also accelerates the delivery of next-generation autonomous vessels to meet the evolving demands of the maritime sector.
Saronic has already incorporated Nvidia’s computing infrastructure and AI tools into its operational processes, resulting in a significant acceleration of its development cycles. Tasks that once took days can now be completed in hours, enabling rapid iterations of autonomy systems and the advancement of multi-agent functions on its platforms. This initiative aligns with the “Restoring America’s Maritime Dominance” Executive Order and the bipartisan SHIPS ACT, which focus on revitalizing US shipbuilding and maritime industrial capacity through public-private partnerships.
