The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) and Maersk Training (MT) have signed a significant agreement to establish a Centre of Excellence focused on leadership and crisis management training for SCA employees. The signing ceremony was attended by senior representatives from both organizations, including Yasser El Sheshengy from SCA, Vijay Rangachari and Omar Gharbo from Maersk Training. The agreement includes the delivery of global training programs, with a focus on leadership and crisis management, as well as the introduction of a ‘Train the Trainer’ concept to promote continuous skill development within the SCA.
Admiral Osama Rabie expressed pride in the longstanding cooperation between SCA and APMM, emphasizing the importance of further collaboration in areas such as leadership and crisis management training. David Skov, CEO of Maersk Training, highlighted the significance of the initiative and the shared goal of developing the human skills of SCA employees. Hany El Nady, Chief Group Representative for APMM in the Middle East and North Africa, underscored the shared vision between SCA and APMM, emphasizing the commitment to exploring new frameworks for cooperation in the maritime industry.
The agreement aims to prepare a distinguished generation of human cadres within the SCA to face any challenges. Maersk Training plans to launch specialized global training programs in 2025 to contribute to workforce development and building a sustainable future. The collaboration between SCA and A.P. Møller-Maersk demonstrates a shared commitment to operational excellence and innovation in the maritime industry, reinforcing their longstanding relationship.
