Chris-Marine has introduced its latest innovation, the VPU 1600, a fuel injector test unit designed for 4-stroke engines. Manufactured at the company’s facility in Brøndby, Denmark, the VPU 1600 is specifically designed to assess the leakage, opening pressure, and spray pattern of fuel injectors. This ensures optimal engine performance and reliability. The advanced testing capabilities of the VPU 1600 make it the ideal choice for engine makes such as MaK, Caterpillar, Deutz, Wärtsilä, and MAN gensets.
The VPU 1600 is set to replace several of Chris-Marine’s existing test units, including the VPU 900-3, VPU 1500-2, VPU 1500-2CAT, and VPU 900 CAT. This new unit offers enhanced functionality and greater value for ship owners, managers, and service crew both onboard and ashore. Features of the VPU 1600 include leakage, opening pressure, and spray pattern testing, a user-friendly interface, robust and compact design, reliable performance, comprehensive spare parts availability, and compatibility with various engine makes.
Leif Abildgaard, Chief Commercial Officer at Chris-Marine AB, stated, “With VPU 1600, we offer a high-performance fuel injector test unit that will significantly facilitate testing of 4-stroke engines in power plants and onboard vessels around the world.” The VPU 1600 is designed to deliver a reliable and intuitive solution for verifying injector performance. Its user-friendly interface allows service engineers to perform tests without specialized training, making it a valuable tool for ensuring optimal engine operation.
