A salvage team is set to arrive early next week to assist the cargo ship Morning Midas, which caught fire while transporting approximately 3,000 vehicles to Mexico off Alaska’s Aleutian Islands. The management company, Zodiac Maritime, announced that a tugboat equipped with salvage specialists and necessary equipment will reach the vessel by Monday.
The crew will evaluate the ship’s condition, and a second tugboat with firefighting and towing capabilities is being arranged. Meanwhile, officials are utilizing the ship’s satellite-connected systems to monitor its status.
The fire incident has raised concerns, but the salvage operation aims to mitigate any further risks. The situation continues to be closely watched as preparations for the salvage operation unfold.
