Seafarers Rescued After Explosion Aboard Spliethoff Cargo Ship

Spliethoff has confirmed that its general cargo vessel, Minervagracht, was attacked by an unidentified explosive device while navigating the Gulf of Aden. During the incident, two crew members sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical care on nearby vessels. The severity of their injuries has not yet been disclosed.

The Minervagracht has suffered significant damage and is currently dealing with a fire. At the time of the attack, the vessel was traveling eastbound from Djibouti and was not carrying any cargo.

In response to the incident, Spliethoff expressed its deep concern for the situation and reiterated its commitment to supporting the affected seafarers and their families during this challenging period.
