Hensoldt UK is set to enhance maritime security in the UK by deploying 50 new solid-state radar systems, aimed at improving coastal surveillance amid rising geopolitical tensions. This initiative is part of a broader integrated national surveillance network designed to bolster monitoring and situational awareness in coastal areas. The radar systems will enable authorities to effectively detect, track, and manage maritime activities.

The contracts for these radar units were secured by Hensoldt UK from SRT Marine System Solutions, with installation scheduled for 2026. The company will provide advanced shore-based sensors, including its reliable SharpEye transceivers, which are engineered to operate effectively in dynamic coastal and marine environments. The solid-state technology not only simplifies installation and maintenance but also outperforms traditional radar systems that utilize magnetrons.
