The recent visit by the Vietnam Coast Guard to Indonesia marks a crucial advancement in maritime cooperation between the two nations, aimed at enhancing security and safety at sea. The welcoming ceremony featured prominent attendees, including Ambassador Ton Thi Ngoc Huong and Vice Admiral Irvansyah, Commander of the Indonesian Coast Guard, along with officials from both nations.

Vice Admiral Irvansyah highlighted that this visit reinforces bilateral cooperation and establishes a framework for improving maritime security and regional stability. He underscored the opportunity it presents to strengthen the partnership between Vietnam and Indonesia.

From August 25 to 29, the Vietnamese delegation, led by Col. Nguyen Tran Dong, will participate in various activities, including meetings with local leaders, a bilateral discussion with the Indonesian Coast Guard, and cultural exchanges in Jakarta. A key event will be a joint at-sea exercise focused on improving coordination in humanitarian assistance, search and rescue operations, and overall maritime security in the region. This collaboration is vital for fostering a secure maritime environment for both countries.
