Wärtsilä Corporation and the Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy (ADMA) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing sustainability within the marine industry. This collaboration, effective for an initial five years, focuses on addressing the industry’s transition to sustainable operations through innovation and expertise. Dr. Yasser Al Wahedi, President of ADMA, emphasized that the partnership seeks to deliver significant environmental benefits, including improved training and operational efficiency, while advancing decarbonization efforts in the UAE maritime sector.

The Maritime Sustainability Research Centre Abu Dhabi (MSRCAD) will provide advisory support, and Wärtsilä plans to engage in joint projects that may extend to collaborations with government entities across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
