UK Seafarer Training Survey Open for Responses Until October 2025

The UK Department for Transport (DfT) has enlisted Nautilus to circulate a survey aimed at gathering insights from members regarding the maritime workforce’s future and the policies surrounding seafarer training. This initiative seeks to better understand the evolving landscape of the maritime sector.

Conducted by Cebr and YouGov on behalf of the DfT, the survey can be accessed on Nautilus International website and will remain open until Wednesday, 29 October 2025. Participants can respond with confidence, as all answers will be kept confidential. 

The survey addresses several critical topics impacting the maritime industry, such as the current and anticipated demand for UK seafarers, the makeup of the workforce, challenges in recruitment, pathways for career advancement, and the potential risks and opportunities that lie ahead.
