Vessel owners/operators, Maritime Education and Training Institutes, and Seafarers are being encouraged to participate in the 2023 MarTID survey. This survey aims to gather information on current maritime training practices and future shifts in how seafarer training is delivered, measured, and funded globally. The survey is expected to take only 20 to 30 minutes to complete but will provide invaluable insights.

The Maritime Training Insights Database (MarTID) is a non-commercial initiative that aims to provide objective and comprehensive data on how maritime manages and conducts training for shipboard competencies. The data, gathered through an annual global survey, will help enhance policy-setting, decision-making, benchmarking, and operational optimization for the industry and regulatory authorities.

The 2023 survey will have a special focus on the Maritime Energy Transition and its impact on seafarer training. While there has been much discussion on the future power options for ships, there is little known about how this transition will affect seafarer training. To participate in the survey, interested individuals can visit the MarTID website or scan the provided QR code.
