The livestock transporter, Brahman Express, experienced a fire in its engine room while en route to Indonesia. The ship, which had 3,600 cattle on board, was able to safely return to Darwin Harbour in Australia. Fortunately, no injuries to the crew or problems with animal protection were reported. The Australian Maritime Safety Authority stated that the fire was extinguished immediately. The cattle are expected to be released in Darwin. This incident comes just months after another cattle transporter, Nine Eagles, had to return to port due to severe engine failure after leaving Darwin with 1,600 cattle on board.
