Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the Global Maritime India Summit (GMIS) on Tuesday. The three-day event, held in Mumbai, will see the unveiling of ‘Amrit Kaal Vision 2047’, a long-term blueprint for the Indian maritime economy. The blueprint includes strategic initiatives to improve port facilities, promote sustainable practices, and encourage international collaboration.

As part of this vision, PM Modi will inaugurate and dedicate projects worth over Rs 23,000 crore, which are aligned with the goals of the Indian maritime blue economy. These projects aim to boost the country’s maritime sector and contribute to its sustainable growth.

The GMIS is an important platform for discussing and exploring opportunities in the maritime sector. It brings together stakeholders from the government, industry, and academia to discuss key issues, share knowledge, and foster collaboration. With the launch of ‘Amrit Kaal Vision 2047’, the summit aims to chart a course for the Indian maritime economy for the next few decades.
