The commercial marine industry is in need of the next generation of innovators and problem solvers to help shape the future. The European Commission has emphasized the need for investment in skills and career development in the Blue Economy, as coasts and seas have the potential to deliver sustainable growth and jobs. Maritime businesses and organizations are seeking to expand the skills base of existing and future employees.

Seawork, in collaboration with Maritime UK and the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership, organized a careers event to showcase job opportunities in the commercial marine industry to students and young people. The event included presentations, tours, and opportunities to speak with exhibitors. Testimonials from the Maritime Careers and Training Day 2023 praised the event for its organization and the valuable information provided to students.

Seawork 2024, the 25th anniversary edition, is set to take place in June 2024, and will include a Careers Fair, Maritime Training & Careers Pavilion, and a Careers Trail. Those interested in participating in the event can contact Seawork for further information.
