Shipping-data companies ZeroNorth and Alpha Ori Technologies have announced their merger, with ZeroNorth taking the lead. The Singapore-based Alpha Ori specializes in IoT sensors, real-time analytics, and high-frequency data collection, while ZeroNorth offers a range of data services including voyage optimization and fleet monitoring. The merger aims to create a powerhouse for digital transformation and data-driven vessel efficiency, with a focus on increasing profits, improving efficiency, and reducing emissions. The combined company will have a larger service portfolio and a customer base covering 4,000 ships worldwide. ZeroNorth CEO Søren Meyer will lead the merged firm, while Alpha Ori’s co-CEOs will become non-executive board members.
