Marlink will help ship manager Thenamaris with its digital transformation by integrating Starlink into its network. Thenamaris uses Marlink’s high-throughput Sealink VSAT in part of its fleet and intends to add new LEO services. Sealink NextGen combines GEO VSAT and MSS backup with a customer’s desired mix of LEO or MEO connectivity, 5G, and digital solutions, all controlled via Marlink’s Xchange platform.
Marlink will provide performance management tools to ensure ship managers maintain visibility into their fleet at all times. The Thenamaris Group manages a modern ocean-going fleet with a total of 88 vessels, including cruse oil and product tankers, bulk carriers and container ships, and LNG and LPG tankers. George Tsivgoulis, thenamaris’ Electrical Conductor said the company must constantly explore new avenues and utilise cutting-edge technology to improve efficiency and life onboard ships.
