Australian oil and gas company Woodside Energy is on track to achieve first oil from the Sangomar offshore project in Senegal in the middle of next year. The project marks Senegal’s first offshore oil development and is located about 50 nautical miles south of Dakar, the country’s capital. The FPSO, Léopold Sédar Senghor, has departed Singapore and is en route to the site, after being converted from a VLCC by Japanese operator Modec. The FPSO is sailing 12,000 nautical miles to reach the Sangomar field.
