The Indian government has launched a new scheme called the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, which aims to support and recognize traditional artisans and craftsmen from the Vishwakarma community. The scheme intends to improve the quality, scale, and reach of their products, as well as integrate them with MSME value chains. The community members are known for their creative work and have contributed to the creation of the seven wonders of the world. The scheme aims to connect them to advanced technology and upgrade their skills.

To ensure the successful implementation of the scheme, central, state, and district level monitoring committees will be formed. The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise will serve as the nodal ministry for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. Various activities are planned under the scheme, including the identification and verification of beneficiaries, mobilization for skill upgradation training, credit support, and marketing assistance. These activities aim to enable the artisans and craftsmen to move up the value-chain and connect them with modern technology.

Overall, the PM Vishwakarma Yojana seeks to provide recognition and holistic support to the Vishwakarma community, allowing them to contribute to the development of the nation. This scheme marks the first time that the government is providing facilities and opportunities to the community, aiming to enhance their skills and integrate them into the mainstream economy.
