A Coast Guard boat crew in San Juan, Puerto Rico, rescued three fishermen from a capsized vessel near Dorado. The men were fishing on the 22-foot vessel Elaine when a large wave overturned their boat. Fortunately, all three were wearing life jackets when they were rescued. The Coast Guard received a distress call from a local 911 operator and quickly dispatched a rescue crew.
Upon arrival, the Coast Guard crew found the fishermen on top of the capsized vessel and safely brought them aboard their own vessel using a heaving line. The survivors were then transferred to a Good Samaritan vessel for transport back to shore. The pleasure craft Elaine was later pulled out of the water with the help of friends of the survivors. Thankfully, there were no injuries or medical emergencies during the rescue operation.
