The construction of the first phase of Ramayapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh is nearing completion. The port, located in the Nellore district, is being built at a cost of Rs 3,736 crore. Once finished, it will have a total of 19 berths and a cargo handling capacity of 138 million tons per year.

Currently, the first phase of the project is nearly finished and will consist of four berths with a cargo handling capacity of 34 million tons per year. The development of Ramayapatnam Port is being undertaken by the Ramayapatnam Port Development Corporation Limited, which operates under the AP Maritime Board. This port is one of four new greenfield ports being developed by the state government.

The completion of the first phase of Ramayapatnam Port marks a significant milestone in the development of the region’s maritime infrastructure. Once fully operational, the port will provide a major boost to the economy by facilitating increased trade and cargo handling capacity in the area.
