A digital platform is being developed to facilitate quick information exchange between ports in India and the UAE as part of the India Middle East Europe Economic Corridor initiative. The platform is expected to be operational within the first 100 days of the Modi 3.0 government, aiming to boost trade and connectivity between the two regions.
Although the Red Sea crisis briefly impacted the project’s progress, commitment from G7 nations has propelled the initiative forward. The platform aims to mitigate supply chain risks and accelerate cargo movement, with a key feature being standardized ports and Customs documentation across participating countries such as India, the UAE, Jordan, and Israel. Once completed, goods can be shipped from Indian ports to Haifa in just 48 hours, further facilitating trade throughout the region.
The development of this digital platform marks an important step towards enhancing trade ties and economic cooperation between India and the UAE. By streamlining information exchange and standardizing procedures, the initiative aims to create greater efficiency in logistics and boost the flow of goods between the two countries. With support from G7 nations and a focus on de-risking supply chains, the project is set to play a crucial role in improving connectivity and trade opportunities in the region.
