Vestdavit recently secured its largest order to date, as it was chosen to supply davits for six multi-purpose vessels being constructed for the Canadian Coast Guard at Seaspan Shipyards in Vancouver. The order includes a total of six FF-15000 davit systems, with the potential for an additional 10 units to be added. This agreement follows a previous contract with Seaspan for RHIB davits for the Polar Icebreaker also being built for the Canadian Coast Guard.
The hydraulically operated FF-15000 davit is a modified version of a larger FF-type davit used in a previous project. It features a unique F-frame system that allows for increased flexibility in handling different boat shapes and sizes. With a safe working load capacity of 15000 kg, this deck-mounted davit can operate in both single and dual-point configurations for optimal performance with various craft sizes.
Designed to handle a 9m self-propelled barge, a 7.5m RHIB, and a 20-foot ISO container, the FF-15000 davit incorporates adjustable lifting points to accommodate boats and containers of different sizes and weights. This versatile system provides efficient and reliable handling capabilities for a range of maritime operations.
