Chevron Marine Lubricants’ Taro Ultra Advanced 40 formulation has received LNG validation status from WinGD, covering all their gas engines with LNG combustion. This approval allows for the use of Taro Ultra Advanced 40 to lubricate all WinGD gas engines, providing enhanced protection for marine engines compared to previous low base number formulations. The oil helps keep pistons clean at moderate BN and oil ash levels, providing robust cylinder lubrication for low-speed marine diesel engines running on various low-sulphur and zero-sulphur fuels.
The rigorous testing protocols were conducted in collaboration with WinGD representatives, following a previous No Objection Letter from MAN Energy Solutions. This validation affirms the effectiveness of Taro Ultra Advanced 40 in ensuring engine protection amidst the industry’s shift towards lower carbon marine operations. Chevron Marine Lubricants and WinGD continue to work on innovative lubrication solutions to meet the evolving fuel mix, regulatory framework, and market demands of the marine sector.
Chevron Marine Lubricants is dedicated to developing cutting-edge solutions for its customers, addressing changes in regulations and technologies affecting the marine industry. WinGD’s technology powers various ocean-going vessels worldwide, including tankers, bulk carriers, and container ships. The collaboration between Chevron Marine Lubricants and WinGD aims to provide reliable and efficient solutions, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and meeting market demands.
