Woodward, a global leader in fuel injection systems, is showcasing its range of injection systems for P2X fuels like methanol and ammonia at SMM in Hamburg. The Medium Pressure Injection (MPI) and High-Pressure Dual Fuel (HPDF) product lines have been fully integrated into a family design. Michael Willmann, Director of Engineering at Woodward, emphasized the company’s commitment to designing energy control solutions for a clean future and supporting the global transition to low-carbon fuels.
The Medium Pressure Injection (MPI) product line features direct actuated technology for port fuel injection or medium pressure direct injection. It supports various fuels and combustion strategies, offering liquid fuels like methanol, ethanol, or ammonia and gaseous fuels like hydrogen injection with electronically controlled Common Rail technology. The High-Pressure Dual Fuel (HPDF) product line includes a twin nozzle concept for ammonia or methanol injection and diesel injection for pilot-ignition or full back-up capability. Woodward’s modular approach allows for customization to meet individual customer requirements.
Woodward is dedicated to helping customers meet the performance demands of new engines and supporting the global transition to low carbon fuels. The company has collaborated with engine OEMs to develop and validate the new product lines. At SMM in Hamburg, Woodward will showcase its innovative solutions, including the SOGAV gas admission valve range, now validated to run on hydrogen and ammonia. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, Woodward is proud to contribute to the decarbonization of the large engine industry and promote a cleaner, more sustainable future.
