The fast-expanding Chinese container service provider, Zhonggu Shipping, and Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) are planning to jointly promote port and shipping business.
The two parties have agreed to promote the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and Canal.
“Besides promoting Zhonggu’s ‘bigger ship’ strategy, we expect to further expand cooperation with Zhonggu and jointly promote the high-quality development of port and shipping and the construction of the international shipping center in Shanghai,” said Gu Jinshan, chairman of SIPG.
“We can expand areas of our cooperation in bulk-to-container, container shipping and related services to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results,” said Lu Zongjun, chairman of Zhonggu Shipping.
Zhonggu is actively trying to improve the cooperative relationship with several domestic port operators. The group signed cooperation agreements with Fujian Port Group and Anhui Port and Shipping Group last month.
