Cyclone Murasu has crossed the Andhra Pradesh coast on India’s Bay of Bengal seaboard, with the core landfall reported near Ongole in Prakasam district. Winds of 100–110 km/h hit coastal areas, Visakhapatnam Port was placed under a Signal 9 warning, and regional maritime operations were disrupted.
Cyclone Murasu is moving across the Bay of Bengal towards the Andhra Pradesh coast, with landfall expected between Nellore and Narsapur late on 2 November. Visakhapatnam, Kakinada and other ports have hoisted warning signals, and Sri Lanka has told fishing and naval craft to avoid deep-sea areas.
