India is set to collaborate with ASEAN to establish cruise tourism routes in the Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal, announced Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. During the ASEAN-India Cruise Dialogue, discussions focused on enhancing connectivity, improving port infrastructure, and fostering sustainable tourism across the Indo-Pacific region to boost maritime cooperation.

ASEAN member states recently adopted the Regional Strategy on Biofouling Management during the 47th ASEAN Maritime Transport Working Group in Brunei on September 17-18. Led by the Philippine delegation, the draft Regional Strategy was presented by Maritime Industry Authority deputy administrator for Operations Nannette Dinopol. The strategy’s main goal is to maintain healthy marine ecosystems.
