Charcoal to Be Classified as Dangerous Cargo for Transportation.
The World Shipping Council is warning of stricter regulations for charcoal shipments following recent fires. Carriers must implement new rules this year, ahead of mandatory IMO regulations in 2026. Charcoal will be classified as dangerous goods under the IMDG Code. Shippers are urged to comply to prevent future incidents.
