Methane Emission Control Test Conducted by NYK on LNG Engine
NYK has successfully conducted its first onboard measurement of a methane oxidation catalyst system for LNG-powered marine engines. Collaborating with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and DAIHATSU, the system, installed on the LNG bunkering vessel KEYS Azalea, aims to reduce methane slip, achieving over 90% oxidation in recent tests.
